It was quite an eventful weekend venture to France with the parents. We were technically in France for less than 24 hours, but it was well worth it. Friday night we took a train down to Portsmouth (a little less than 2 hours) and then boarded a ferry (after a brief wait) and traveled overnight, in a very tight cabin with bunk beds to Normandy. I would just like to point out that they wake you up an hour before the boat docks, which in our case was about 5:45ish. After a 30 minute cab ride we were at our departure point in Bayeux.

We had an amazing tour guide and we went to some great places. We went to Saint-Mere Eglise, the spot were some of the para-troopers landed on D-Day. The place were not one, but two of them got caught up in the church steeple and were two stained glass windows are dedicated to the American men who liberated the tiny French town from the Germans. The Airborne museum that is right in the square of the town houses a C-47 Skytrain and a Waco glider which were both impressive. We saw some of the hedgerows and of course Utah and Omaha beaches. Our tour guide was really good and even though it rained off and on for the better half of the day it was still great. Of course my favorite place was the American cemetery because having been there once before I still think it's one of the most beautiful and serene places I've ever been too.

Right after the tour we grabbed some dinner in Bayeaux and then were on the hunt for a taxi. Well that was the fun part. It's a good thing that I've got a high school education of French because it was the only thing that got us by. Finally I was able to call a cab and get us all safely to the Ferry Port. The voyage back to England was a little rough; it was like trying to sleep in a wave pool with the constant back and forth movement. Somehow I got through it and made it back to England without having to take an afternoon nap.

I've got some video that I am working on uploading onto the website. I am really looking forward to getting home and editing some of the stuff I shot together. But for now everyone will have to deal with the short clips that I can put online.

My parents are in town and they have been keeping me busy. We've visited the London Eye and the Imperial War Museum, a day trip to Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford. Besides hanging out with Mom and Dad, I went on a day trip to Bath and Avebury which was so beautiful.

I've uploaded some pictures from the trip with my parents and I am working on the pictures from Bath. I'm also working on getting some more videos up on my website. It's hard trying to get everything done while having an internship. Most of the time I am so spent by the time I get home, I just want to take a shower and go to bed.

And that's exactly what I am going to do now.

Last night I saw The Producers and it was fantastic! It was so funny, I was laughing out loud the whole time. I was scared that the actors would have horrible New York accents because they're British, but they were pretty good. I am hoping to go to at least one more show while I am here, and more if possible. I would love to see Phantom of the Opera here, but I'm not sure how expensive the tickets are. Usually there is a student discount, but how much depends on the show and the time you want to go.

I am in the process of trying to figure out my schedule for next semester and how to overload so I can get my history minor. It looks like I have to send a form over to BU so that I can get permission to register for a special class. It's kind of frustrating; they should make things easy for people who are abroad, rather than not telling them everything before they leave. Oh BU, how I love and hate you all at the same time.

I want to make a short film while I am here in London, but I really don't know where I am going to find the time. Hopefully though I can get something cool done. Maybe some sort of music video or something. I need to get back into editing as soon as I am back in Boston.

Only two days until the rents get into London. Watch out because here they come!

Shame on me for not updating in awhile. Things have been pretty hectic here in the flat. We've had 5 extra people in the flat this week, making for some interesting times.

My internship is going well. I haven't done anything really exciting yet, but the people are warming up to me, which is a good sign. I can't lie though with, I miss working at NESN with all my favorite people. I am really excited to see the new building and learn all the new equipment. I will need to work my ass off when I get back to make up for all the money I've gone through over here. It'll be dual time between NESN and the Sox again, with a few beach days thrown in there of course.

The weather is warming up. The sun seems to be out more and I love that. Sometimes the bleakness gets to me and all I want to do is curl up in my monkey and listen to my ipod. Sometimes I feel like such a lame ass for just sitting around the flat. I mean I'm in London I should enjoy it more, but every now and then I just need some me time. And me time isn't very often here because we all live so close together.

My parents are coming on Thursday and I am really excited. It'll be great to see them again and they are bring me peanut butter and fluff which is awesome! They are going to have such a good time in the city and I am excited for them to have a great trip. I can't wait for all of us to go on the Harry Potter tour (thanks to my Mom) and our trip to Normandy to see all the history. My parent's will be world travelers too (well less than me, but still).

The other night me and Jen went to this place in Fulham (the area in Chelsea right by the football stadium) and it was awesome. The name of the bar isn't quite so pleasant, The Slug and Lettuce, but it was such a good time. We had boys flocking to us because British girls can't dance, it's like they have no sense of rhythm. So naturally because me and Jen are so cute and we can dance, people were enthralled with us, which always makes for a good night. The bouncer wasn't going to let Jen in because he thought her ID was a fake. Her ID expired on her birthday (two weeks ago) so she had to explain and show her student ID. She was upset because she's finally 21 and you only have to be 18 to go out here and the guy was giving her a hard time. The place is more my speed because its chill and there's only a one pound cover and drinks are cheap. I hate those overpriced places we've been to. I don't feel like I should have to pay between five and ten pounds just to get into a place to have a good time.

It's been a very lovely weekend here in London. Saturday me and Jen ventured over to Portobello Road for the market. It was really cool. Besides the shops that line the streets, there are all these stalls set up with really cool things. There are antiques and vintage clothes shops along with more modern shops. They were these really cool magnifying glasses that I wanted to buy just because they looked so awesome. There were also these old cameras and spyglasses that were beautiful. I ended up buying a bright blue pashmina and two polka dot dresses. One is bright blue with white dots and the other is hot pink with black dots. They are wicked cute and I got a great deal on them. Also me and Jen has a delightful (and inexpensive) luch of bratwurst and sauerkraut on the street.

Saturday night we took Anais' friends out on the town. First we hit Tiger Tiger for some Long Island Iced Teas before we made our way over to where we swore we would never go again, Walkabout. But we knew that Anais' friends would have a good time there so we went.

Sunday morning we slept in and went grocery shopping. Then we went out on the Jack the Ripper Walk at night. Our tour guide was the leading scholar on Jack the Ripper and he was so knowledgeable. The best part was that he had a one on one tour with Johnny Depp was he was filming From Hell, which makes him really cool in my book. The tour was full of interesting facts and I think that I might buy the book to learn some more about Jack the Ripper. Now it's off to do some homework.

For some reason I couldn't get this link to go through on my previous post. This is a description of the show I am helping out on at the moment. Things are going well, and people are starting to warm up to me.

Tonight Anais' roomie from Boston, Jes, got in so we are getting her accustomed to the flat and living with all of us for the next week. It should be good times. Anais has another friend and Ashley has a friend who will also be staying a few nights here. So it is going to be a week of slumber parties at Lexham Gardens!

Well I am having a lame Friday night and turning in early. I am going to get a little Dan Brown in before I fall asleep (hopefully).

Today was my first day interning at Outline Productions. I almost forgot what it was like to travel to work and work a full day - I am spent!

Today was just really the basics. I was introduced to a lot of people that I've already forgotten their names, I watched some of the programs Outline produces so I could have a better feel for the company and then I was throw into working on the pre-production of The House of Tiny Tearaways for the BBC. It's great because I can wear jeans to work and we all know how much I love jeans. I need to get another pair of Pumas, preferably black. And maybe another pair of jeans, but I always have such a hard time finding jeans that fit me. We'll see what the weekend brings. The people at Outline seem cool, but they're British so it's going to take time for them to warm up. Just wait until they realize how cool I am, they are going to be begging me to go to the pub with them after work, or at least I hope.

As I was sitting on the tube this morning I looked to my left and right and realized that the people sitting on either side of me were reading Dan Brown books as well. He may be in a battle whether or not his ideas are real, but whatever I like his stuff. Right now I am on Digital Fortress and then I've read them all. So Mr. Brown better get cracking on a new book. I'm like a reading freak at the moment. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know as I will be making a book purchase by the end of next week.
