So it's decided and book: I'm going to Morocco for Spring Break '06! Me and Samia finalized everything last night and we'll be jetting off to Casablanca on February 18 and then taking the Marrakesh Express on Feb 20, leaving us 4 full days in Marrakesh. We're going to ride camels and go to markets, and most importantly spend some time by the pool in the sun. It's all so exciting. It was a pretty good deal for the week; it was within my budget so I figured what the hell when am I even going to have the chance to go to Africa again...Sunday, January 29, 2006
So I'm still sick. I'm feeling alright, I just don't sound too pretty. I'm really surprised that I haven't coughed anything up yet, like a lung or something else that's buried in my body. When I cough my whole body shakes, not a good thing.Thursday, January 26, 2006
Nothing really too new to report. Last night's Coronation Street was really good. We're all kind of getting into it. It's weird how the soap operas run over here. They are only a half hour long and only run like 3 or 4 times a week. It seems like so much happens within the shows though, unlike back home where one day lasts for 6 weeks. But the production value of the soaps is definitely a downgrade from back home. Which again is odd because they are some of the most popular shows on television.Tuesday, January 24, 2006

Today I learned a few things in class:Sunday, January 22, 2006
I learned a lot of things while I was over in Ireland this weekend, most importantly:Wednesday, January 18, 2006
Tomorrow we are jetting off to Dublin for the weekend. It's finally really sunk in that we're heading to another country. Tonight we packed our weekend bags and checked the weather. We are planning on doing some cheap things while we are over there. The weather doesn't look that promising for the weekend, but the thing I've noticed is that the weather people over here are even worse than the people in the states. So hopefully we'll get some rain free days while we're over there. I've got the maps and travel books so I think we'll be all set.

Nothing really exciting to report on today. I had class all day, it was very long and semi-interesting. I watched two old episodes of CSI: (from season 3) and that made me happy. The only other thing I did today was that I bought a hair straightner because my is on the fritz in this country. I'm going to do a little reading on Dublin and then I am going to hit the sheets.Monday, January 16, 2006

Although it was only for a brief time today, the sun shinned down on our little walking tour of London today. While many of the other BU students here went on a panoramic bus trip of the city, we decided to take the cheaper way and walk around. I mean what the hell it was a rather nice day, and a little walking never hurt anyone. We (me, Jen, Samia and Anais) left the flat at around 9:30 AM and started towards Buckingham Palace. We saw the guards, but they were wearing grey uniforms not red. Also the flag was down so that means that the Queen wasn't there. But that doesn't mean that my Princes weren't. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the boys, but our time here is just beginning.Saturday, January 14, 2006
Today was such a good day in London. We went on a boat trip down the Thames River today, where we took in all the sights of London and the surrounding area. They even served us tea and biscuits (what we know as cookies) on the way back. I am rather a fan of the English Breakfast Tea with milk and two lumps of sugar. Actually I am a big fan of tea in general. They have Starbucks here, but things are so expensive I would rather buy my own tea at the grocery store and make it at home. I've got some great pictures from the trip. I wish the sun was out a little more because the fog and dreariness make the pictures seem almost a bit hazy.Friday, January 13, 2006
Today I had my first Television and Film in Britain since 1945 class. It was great the teacher was almost 25 minutes late. And then when he gets in he's this cute British man with think rimmed black square glasses and he's carrying this bike that is folded up to be the size of one of the tires. Today I learned a few things in class today:Thursday, January 12, 2006
Today we finished the academic lectures for our orientation period. Two of them were actually interesting, the others were more like a snooze fest. The first Professor spoke about the Historic Economics of London. I got my reading done for my class tomrorow and wrote a nice leaflet for Anais and Jen. The interesting Professor spoke about the Government and Constitution of Britain. The Dean of the program spoke about the Grand Tours of Europe that took place in the 17th and 18th century. The last lecture should have been interesting because it was about the creativity of the British in the modern era, but the lecturer was rather dry.Tuesday, January 10, 2006
Yesterday I had my placement meeting with my internship coordinator. We basically talked about what I wanted to do for an internship. I told the guy that I really wanted to do some production for documentaries, like something on the History Channel. My second and third choices were fiction sitcoms, and non-fiction programs. I felt really good about the initial meeting though. He told me that I had an impressive resume and that I should be able to get my first choice with an internship.

Everyone's worst fear when they fly is that their flight is going to be delayed for whatever reason. Well my flight to London was no exception. For my flight that was supposed to leave at 7:25 PM boarded at 8:30PM and sat at the terminal for another hour because they were experiencing excessive weight in the luggage cargo. Well when you tell college kids that they can take 2 suitcases each 70 lbs each, almost everyone of them is going to almost max out the limit. Anyways my flight eventually got up in the air and it seemed like smooth sailing we hit turbulence and air pockets like you wouldn't believe. The seat belt lights were on for almost the entire flight. I got about 1 - 1 and a half of sleep, but the bets part was watching March of the Penguins. It was a super cute movie. The little girl across the aisle from me puked while we were landing and it took all I had not to puke up my own airline food at the smell of it.

The most popular route on the tube for tourists is Leicester Square to Covent Garden on the Piccadilly line. It is quicker to walk this distance than travel on the tube.
